Garden of England beckons

The beautiful countryside of Kent, also known as the Garden of England, could be the ideal destination for those looking to move away from the hustle and bustle of London.

Kent was the backdrop of the famous Darling Buds of May television show and a quick drive through the county reveals a wealth of attractive oast houses, hop gardens and chocolate box cottages.

Another advantage is that popular locations such as Ashford and Tenterden are just a short commute from central London so property for sale in Kent could appeal to many buyers.

The recent introduction of the high speed train service from the area to London St Pancras means workers can be in the capital within 37 minutes - compared with an average journey time of one hour and 20 minutes via normal mainline services.

For those who prefer to travel by car, the M25 is within an hour's drive- so perfect for those who want to spend their evenings and weekends away from the office.

Of course, there are also regular Eurostar services from Ashford International that connect with Paris, Brussels and Lille - perfect for a weekend break or a longer summer holiday.

Residents in the Kent area will also be pleased to discover that fibre broadband services have been expanded to provide access for over 550,000 home and businesses in the area.

The work by telecommunications firms BT now means that over two-thirds of the whole county have access to high-speed broadband.

This now means Ashford, Maidstone, Folkestone, Broadstairs, Dartford, Thanet, Gillingham, Sittingbourne, Ramsgate, Gravesend and Tunbridge Wells will now be able to access online services reliably.

Provision of high-speed broadband has been linked to a rise in property prices as people seek to buy homes that are linked to the increasingly essential service. With many now reliant on using the internet for education, shopping, entertainment and social networking.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801751525-ADNFCR
