Former MG building could be the base for a new Worcestershire homes development

Property hunters looking for a house for sale in Worcestershire will be pleased to hear that plans for a new housing development in Cofton Hackett have been submitted for approval.

The 52 acre Longbridge east site in the area, if approved, will house 200 homes on what used to be the engine works for the MG Rover group. The application proposes a new park and play area and the opening up of the River Arrow.

Richard Hickman of St Modwen, nearby to the proposed development, said: "Feedback gathered at a public consultation event held in May showed that local people were largely supportive of the plans.

"As a direct result to the consultation, we have now also allowed for the provision of a wider range of accommodation for the elderly in the later phases of the development."

If the plans gain approval by Bromsgrove District Council, then work could start on site in early 2012.
