Flats to rent in Essex: Landlords on good terms with tenants

People seeking flats to rent in Essex and other parts of the country are enjoying better relations with property owners, a survey by the National Landlords Association (NLA) has revealed.

The poll found that 61 per cent of landlords would describe their relationship with their tenants as very good, while a further 35 per cent said it was good. Fewer than one per cent said they were on poor terms with tenants.

It may be good news for people considering flats to rent in Essex, and NLA chairman David Salusbury recommended landlords meet regularly with tenants to maintain goodwill and check if repairs are needed.

"The private rented sector will play an important part in helping to meet the demand for quality housing in the coming years," he added.

"So it is pleasing to see that almost all landlords have a good relationship with their tenants."

Recently, the NLA announced that 28 local authorities are using its Accreditation Scheme, which is designed to weed out rogue landlords.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800673669-ADNFCR
