Finance boost for houses for sale in Staffordshire

People hoping to buy property for sale in Staffordshire may benefit from increased lending in 2011.

According to the Building Societies Association (BSA), £1.7 billion worth of mortgages were approved by mutual lenders last month, showing a 23 per cent increase compared to lending in February 2010.

Homebuyers looking for houses for sale in Staffordshire may find better mortgage deals from a local lender.

Leek United Building Society, based in the county, saw its lending increase by 40 per cent in 2010.

Mortgage lending worth £84 million was approved by the society last year, compared to £60 million in 2009.

The firm says it is committed to providing funding for prospective buyers, which could help those looking for houses for sale in Staffordshire to secure a home loan.

Adrian Coles, director-general of the BSA says following low levels in 2010, mortgage lending from mutuals continues to grow.

He said: "The good financial results released recently by many mutual lenders show that they are strongly placed to offer attractive products to homebuyers."ADNFCR-1222-ID-800481341-ADNFCR
