Families may want to consider Yeovil

Property for sale in Yeovil could offer the right atmosphere to raise a family for those hoping to settle down and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.

Yeovil was first mentioned in the Domesday Book as Givele possibly meaning 'the river noble' from the Old English ea and aerel. The place name is thought to have derived from the river name.

It is now home to around 40,000 people and the town has a lot of local amenities for those with children.

One of the key attractions is the number of primary schools in the area, as well as four secondary schools, including an independent institution.  There is also a college that offers further learning and courses for adults who want to develop their skills.

For those working outside of Yeovil, there are strong transport links to other parts of the UK. There are two nearby railway stations - Yeovil Pen Mill and Yeovil Junction - which both offer frequent services to London, Exeter, Bristol and Weymouth.

In terms of recreational attractions, there are plenty of things to do in the local area. One of the most popular with children is the local railway museum, as well as the Goldenstones Pool and Leisure Centre.

When the weather is nice, then Preston Park and Yeovil Country Park offer a great chance to get outside and work off some of that excess energy.

Yeovil also boasts a great 'foodie' scene with many outlets selling a wide range of different cuisines.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801762347-ADNFCR
