Explore the joys of Bakewell

Bakewell has the benefit of being located in one of the most picturesque areas of the country, within the Peak District - Britain's first National Park.

With a rich history dating back to a mention in the Domesday Book, the market town of Bakewell still retains much of its charm. There is every still a popular cattle market every Monday, as well as numerous other stalls selling a variety of local food and goods.

Bakewell's other famous historic link is with the pudding rather than the tart. A Bakewell Pudding is a jam pastry made from egg and contains a ground almond filling. It is thought the pudding was created by accident when a cook accidently mixed up the ingredients.

If you are planning a visit to look at property for sale in Bakewell, then do make some time to stop at one of the many retailers in the area who sell the delicious pudding.

The town is also well-placed for those looking to find a job in the surrounding areas, as it is just a 13 miles drive to the city Sheffield, 31 miles to Manchester and 21 miles to Derby.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, then Bakewell does not disappoint, as there are plenty of lovely walking trails that explore the nearby Castleton area with its caves and Shivering Mountain (Mam Tor).

There are also lots of attractions in the area that make the perfect day out, including Chatsworth House, Alton Towers, Arkwright's Mill and Carsington Water.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801820786-ADNFCR
