Exeter: A historic, county town with plenty to offer

Exeter is without the doubt the heartbeat of the county of Devon. It is the county town and it is also the home of Devon County Council. The city has plenty of history and has been listed in the top ten profitable locations for a business to be based, just two reasons why so many people are tempted to look at property for sale in Exeter.

Exeter is believed to have been in existence for thousands of years and has a long, varied history through across dozens of eras. As such, it has lots of interesting buildings and areas to visit include Exeter Cathedral, St Nicholas Priory and the ruins of Rougemont Castle. All are well worth a visit and keep drawing in the crowds. Northernhay Gardens, the UK's oldest public open space, is also located in the city.

Part of the appeal, especially for business workers, of living in Exeter is the extensive transport links available in the city. The city has moved on dramatically from a time when it relied heavily on the use of Exeter canal. It now comprises Exeter St David's railway station, Exeter International Airport while it is an often-used route by national bus companies. The M5 is also nearby which connects to cities further north.

Residents will also have access to good medical facilities thanks to the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust which has a hospital nearby. The city is also plush with education environments too. Nurseries, schools, colleges and Exeter University are all within the city boundaries and offer great opportunities to residents. Exeter City football club also ply their trade in the city while a number of other sports are also played in the city including squash, rugby and cricket.

There is plenty going on in this exciting, historic town and plenty of reasons to try and secure a property there. ADNFCR-1222-ID-800786810-ADNFCR
