Estate agents in Evesham set for boost as councils lay out housing plans

More houses and flats for sale in Evesham and the surrounding areas are expected to become available over the coming years, if plans to build 20,000 new homes are approved.

Proposals laid out in the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP) are aimed at boosting business growth, creating jobs and finding a solution to the burgeoning housing shortage in the region.

Estate agents in Worcester city could see the most benefits from the plans, which are being considered by local authorities, as councillors have managed to identify land for half of its housing growth.

The main towns of Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Malvern have all been identified as vibrant areas to live with a range of employment opportunities.

SWDP has been prepared jointly by Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council, setting out plans to meet economic, residential and environmental challenges through to 2030.

Philip Grove, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: "It is our vision for South Worcestershire and will, in the long term ensure any future development adds to the economic prosperity of the area and protects our natural heritage."ADNFCR-1222-ID-800602760-ADNFCR
