Enjoy the historical market town of Christchurch

The town and borough of Christchurch is located in Dorset, situated between Bournemouth and the New Forest on the south coast of England. It sits at the confluence of the rivers Avon and Stour and has its own harbour, making it an ideal setting for those who enjoy sailing and fishing.

As well as its harbour, the beaches and historical landmarks of Christchurch make it a popular destination for summer visitors, with over a million coming into the town each year. It also has its own international airport, Bournemouth Airport.

Perfect for people who enjoy the feel of a close knit local community, Christchurch has its own weekly market, held on a Monday in the town's high street. It also periodically hosts various food fairs and a French market.

For culture vultures looking to buy property for sale in Christchurch, the town also hosts a yearly food and wine festival, with over 100 different stalls selling food and drinks, as well as a large kitchen area where cooking demonstrations are given by guest chefs, which have included Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli in previous years.

Other popular events held in Christchurch include the yearly regatta, which has taken place every year in the harbour since 1909, with celebrations such as a funfair and various processions and fireworks displays, and a music festival, held every July, originally a folk festival which has now evolved into accepting rock bands.

In terms of landmarks, Christchurch has an old Norman motte and bailey style castle, although it is merely the ruins that remain, as well as a priory and the impressive Highcliffe Castle, a listed mansion built on the cliffs.

All of these amenities and attractions make the town very popular with visitors, all of whom bring a welcome boost to the town's economy.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801217059-ADNFCR
