Distinctive property for sale in Suffolk

Property hunters seeking luxury homes for sale in Suffolk could find everything they're looking for in a unique mansion that recently came onto the market - as long as they have £3.5 million to spare.

Westgate Park, which is currently owned by David Edwards and John Tanner, is a distinctive property in Suffolk decorated throughout with the paintings of figurative artist Francis Bacon, known for his grotesque and fantastic style.

Mr Edwards is the older brother of John Edwards, a close companion of Bacon, and together with his partner spent years completing the property, the Daily Mail reports.

Blending a period atmosphere with the latest modern technology, Westgate Park is set in landscaped parkland and features underfloor heating, an integrated music system and, of course, dozens of famous paintings.

"When Francis died his entire estate was left to John and was worth about £11 million, but in today's terms it would be worth about £300 million - prices of Bacons have rocketed," Mr Edwards told the newspaper.

The latest Lloyds TSB Million Pound Property Report found that the number of million pound property sales in 2010 increased at its fastest rate in four years.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800528750-ADNFCR
