Diss: A market town not to miss!

Diss: A market town not to miss!

When it comes to moving with a family, space and security are two virtues that cannot be looked past by parents.

Market towns across the UK, with their rural setting and sense of community, can often provide that extra bit of room needed, as well as removing the fear caused by excessive traffic that can be a problem in busier cities.

Of course, there are other things to consider, such as educational facilities and a good selection of local amenities, and property for sale in Diss could offer this to movers.

The Norfolk Town has a population of just 7,000, giving it a relaxed atmosphere which is common in many British market towns.

Diss boasts a number of historic buildings, adding to the picturesque feeling of the town centre. The pick of the bunch is the parish church, which was built in the early 14th century.

There are three main schools in Diss proper, however, the surrounding area also offers other educational options. Diss High School, Scole Primary School and Bressingham Primary School are the most conveniently located schools, all of which are situated around the town itself.

A good selection of well known shops can be found in Diss, with a Tesco and a Morrisons providing residents with all their grocery needs.

The town also has a rich sporting tradition with numerous different clubs currently in operation. Diss & District Cycling Club, Diss & District Bowls Club, Diss ladies netball club and the Diss and District athletics club are all open to new joiners.

As well as this, Diss also has its own football and rugby clubs, both of which have a fantastic local fan base.

For those working in Norwich, Diss railway station provides a direct line into the centre making the commute a relatively easy one. Those who travel by car can use the A140, which heads towards the historic city.

No market town would be complete without an actual market, and Diss does not disappoint in this department. Locals can get of produce from the surrounding area every Friday, with fresh fish being a particularly popular item for sale.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801670749-ADNFCR
