Developers set to unveil Oxfordshire housing plans

Property hunters who may have struggled to find housing should consider turning their attention to property for sale in Oxfordshire following news that over 100 homes could be built in the region.

A planning application has been submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council planning committee to build 100 homes and a care home on a site measuring 120,000 sq ft.

Designer Peter Mapson told the Oxford Mail: "We wanted to produce homes with individual character, not just a bland housing estate. There will be space between the buildings with nice winding lanes opening out onto squares, and we will make sure that there are good footpath links to sites all around."

Warwick Robinson, chairman of the planning committee, said councillors would need to consider whether the scheme fitted in with the mixed use criteria laid down in the Local Plan.

Developers Bower Mapson will display their plans at the Corn Exchange in Witney on Friday, September 30.
