DIY delay to affect houses for sale in Bath?

Residents with property for sale in Bath have been urged not to ignore essential repairs that could boost interest in their home.

Almost a third of homeowners have admitted to delaying home maintenance and decorating to save money, Gocompare.com has revealed.

The insurance broker also found that many of those polled were putting off adding features such as a new kitchen or bathroom.

Although 32 per cent say the cutbacks are needed to reduce their outgoings, for those hoping to generate interest in their house for sale in Bath, delaying may not be wise.

Phil Paterson-Fox, Gocompare.com's head of home services, says owners need to carefully consider which jobs they are placing on the back burner.

He explained: "While it may be ok to delay cosmetic redecorating jobs, essential repairs should not be ignored.

"Delaying structural repairs - a leaking roof for example, may lead to more damage."

Property for sale in Bath could be attractive to buyers with a love for fine food.
