Crowborough offers outstanding beauty

The East Sussex town of Crowborough could be the ideal place for those looking to find a beautiful place to enjoy their retirement.

Located on the edge of Ashdown Forest on the Weald, Crowborough is truly surrounded by some stunning countryside.

There are plenty of local trails and walks that provide a great way to enjoy the local landscape and the High Weald area covers more than 550 square miles.

For those who prefer indoor sports, the Goldsmiths Recreation Ground offers a leisure centre with swimming and exercise facilities. Plus there is also a boating lake for anyone keen to take up a new hobby.

Sherlock Holmes fans may also be interested to know that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once lived in the village, while Winnie-the-Pooh author AA Milne moved Christopher Robin and family to the area.

The town ahas great transport links and there are regular train services from Crowborough to the rest of the UK. London Bridge is just over an hour away, while Uckfield is just 14 minutes.

For those preferring to travel by car, Brighton and Eastbourne are a 45 minute trip away and it is around 40 minutes to Gatwick.

Any families that are tempted to buy property for sale in Crowborough should consider taking a look at the seven primary schools in the area, while for other children there is Beacon Community College.

One of the highlights for the local residents is the annual Celebrate Sussex Day. The event involves a whole host of traditional entertainment and activities on Chapel Green. With visitors being able to show a Punch and Judy show, listen to a professional story teller and enjoy a hog roast. Held in June, the day is opened with a reading of the Sussex Charter.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801724438-ADNFCR
