Coastal appeal of Weston-super-Mare

The coastal location of Weston-super-Mare is a major attraction for many families.

More than 75,000 people live in the seaside resort and its lovely beach appeals to those with young children. Therefore, there is a real demand for property for sale in Weston-super-Mare and it is developing into a great location for people hoping to enjoy the good life.

As well as gorgeous sand, the town also has a real choice of education options for families with children. For younger offspring, there is Ashcombe Primary, Castle Batch Primary school, Becket Primary and Bournville Primary School, while older children have a number of secondary schools to pick from.

People looking for a bit of local culture will be pleased by the numerous offerings of the Blakehay Theatre & Community Arts Centre, which includes plays and exhibitions, as well as live music performances.

For other leisure facilities, then town's Odeon cinema shows many of the latest blockbusters, while the Grand Pier and the SeaQuarium are also perfect places to spend a few hours with the kids.

Anyone looking for a wider choice of shops will be pleased to discover Bristol is around 40 minutes away via the M5.

The seaside resort has benefited from significant regeneration and redevelopment in recent years and one of the most controversial changes was the installation of the Silica at Big Lamp Corner.

Constructed in 2006, the piece is a mix of art, newspaper kiosk, bus shelter and an advertising sign. It has divided public opinion in the region, with some calling it a carrot while others believe it looks like a spaceship - either way it is certainly a talking point!

Other public space improvements that have been made following council funding include the Gove Park Village and the creation of a new pavilion on the Grand Pier.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801697905-ADNFCR
