Cinderford's youth belies the amount it has to offer to residents

Cinderford's youth belies the amount it has to offer to residents

A short drive from the English and Welsh border lies the small, relatively new town on the block of Cinderford.

It is located on the edge of the beautiful Forest of Dean and only came into existence in the 19th century. The town came about as a result of the booming coal and iron industries but since then it has grown to house thousands of residents and become one the places to be in Gloucestershire.

The region surrounding Cinderford is simply stunning, as is the town itself. Places of note for walkers, ramblers or even those who like to sit and wonder at the picturesque views include the Royal Forest of Dean, and the Wye Valley. Local counties of Herefordshire and Monmouthshire also offer fantastic scenery as well as plenty of charming towns and villages to stop for a visit.

As well as natural wonders in the region, there are plenty of manmade ones too. Attractions such as The Chained Library, Hampton Court and Gloucester Folk Museum will all teach you a thing or two and keep you interested.

Should you ever need to escape the countryside for the fun and frolics of the big city then you won’t be disappointed either. Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol are all within easy driving distance via the plethora of road links available. While the town doesn’t currently have a train station, there are plans for one to be built in nearby Newnham. There are also regular buses to Gloucester which has strong rail links.

Within the town itself, there is plenty of activities to keep everyone busy including the Freeminer Brewery, Cinderford's own rugby, football and swimming clubs as well as two local gyms and a very strong music scene.

Ever since the town was born it has strived to grow into the beautiful, charming settlement it is now and it can offer a great lifestyle to anyone looking at property for sale in Cinderford.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800738485-ADNFCR
