Cheddar: A breath of fresh air for rural re-locators

As property values in rural areas continue to rise, it is no wonder people are looking to relocate to the great British countryside. Fresh air and a more relaxed way of life are just a few of the benefits from settling down in the greener parts of the UK

For those looking to settle in the peace and quiet of the country, property for sale in Cheddar may be the perfect option.

The Somerset village is perhaps best known for its links to the popular cheese, this however, is not the only thing Cheddar has to offer people looking to relocate in the area.

With a population of just over 5,000 the village has a quiet community feel to it. Cheddars rural location also means that you don’t have to go far to escape to the countryside.

Just on the edge of the village lies the magnificent Cheddar Gorge, an impressive limestone gorge that cuts its way through the Mendip Hills. Home to the Cheddar caves, the area is a great source of adventure for outdoor (and underground!) enthusiasts.

Nearby Cheddar Wood also offers residents the chance to connect with nature. Take a family stoll and spot some wildlife or just enjoy a quiet walk with the dog. Surrounding Somerset provides many other beautiful natural spots including Blagdon Lake and the Chew Valley.

Parents looking to move to the area can rest assured that their children can achieve a good education in Cheddar. The area has a number of school including the the Kings of Wessex Academy which has received an “outstanding” rating from Ofsted.

Clubs in the area include the Cheddar Vale Lions Club, Mendip Rotary and Mendip Inner Wheel Club. These associations help to organise projects that raise money for the local community. Annual events include a dragon boat race and fire work display.

Cheddar is approximately five miles away from the M5 motorway which provides transport links to the rest of the UK.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801653395-ADNFCR
