Buyers take time to make buying decision

Four in ten potential home owners look at six or more properties before making a purchase, according to new research.

The study from Your Move found those buying in the South East of England were the most likely to take their time to come to a decision, with 51 per cent of buyers in the region viewing at least six properties. However, buyers in Wales were the most likely to purchase the first listing they visited.

In addition, the research found February is one of the busiest months of the year for viewings as people begin to look at stepping on the property ladder or making a move.

“Even though some home owners are lucky enough to fall in love with the first or second property they view, the majority take more time to make an offer on the perfect home,” said Oliver Blake, Managing Director at Your Move.

“The results of our survey show that many home buyers are rightly being careful about making one of the most important financial decisions of their life.

“February is typically the busiest month of the year in terms of online viewings being booked for Your Move and could be good news for those looking to sell their properties now,” he added.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801832982-ADNFCR
