Buy to let owners 'confident about marketplace'

Buy to let owners have shown they are more satisfied with the marketplace in January 2011 than they were last month.

Upad has released its January Landlord Confidence Index which revealed that 63 per cent of residential landlords are more confident about the sector than they were last month.

This shows an increase from December 2010, when 60 per cent said they were more settled about the future of the market than they were in November.

James Davis, chief executive of Upad, said this is the highest level of confidence seen among buy to let owners since January 2009.

"It's clear that demand for rental property is on the increase throughout much of the UK and that many landlords are reaping rewards from that," he commented.

Earlier this month, The Paragon Group revealed that 41 per cent of landlords intend to increase their monthly charges this year, indicating a greater confidence in the demand for their properties.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800344039-ADNFCR
