Busy house season begins

The start of the traditional busy period for house selling is set to get under way.

New research suggests the upcoming eight-week period will see up to ten per cent more homes sold compared to the rest of the year.

A survey from Purplebricks found 28 per cent of sellers had sold properties between the start of May and the end of June in past years.

It was also discovered that 67 per cent had sold homes for at least the asking price during the busy eight weeks.

Consumer expert Sarah Willingham and founder of Letssavemoney explained: "Whilst property sales have been buoyant so far this year it is clear that sellers during the early part of the year are still recovering from the Christmas excess, so financially are not in a position to move."

She added many property owners feel they will achieve a higher asking price during the summer months as the brighter weather makes home more sellable.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801719249-ADNFCR
