Brokers offer better knowledge to homebuyers

People looking to buy houses for sale in 2011 could receive better mortgage advice from a broker.

Homebuyers who take a home loan via a broker will have a better knowledge of what will happen during their mortgage than someone who buys direct, according to Alexander Hall.

The mortgage advice firm says brokers can examine a range of products for customers.

Andy Pratt, chief operating officer at Alexander Hall, said: "The difference is fundamentally the explanation of the different products on the market and the advice.

"[Brokers] do compare and contrast different products."

Intermediaries can also explain the ways a home loan may change through the period of the mortgage, he added.

People looking to secure finance for houses for sale in the UK could benefit from using a small mortgage lender.

According to research by Moneyfacts.co.uk, the UK's largest mortgage providers only offers a quarter of the best deals available, despite being responsible for approximately three-quarters of all the mortgage products on the market.
