Birmingham: Cultural hub in the UK's second city

The decision to move to a new home can depend on any number of different things, such as a new job, the kids starting school, or even retirement. However, sometimes you might just fancy a change in where you live and look to head somewhere new.

This is most likely to occur in the early part of the year, when some of us, fed up after the Christmas festivities, decide that we could use a new start to reinvigorate ourselves. If this is your motivation for looking for a new house, you might want to try somewhere that gives you entertainment and excitement.

With this in mind, you could turn towards property for sale in Birmingham. With over a million residents, the city is the second biggest in the UK, and as well as being a hub for business, it is also home to some of the best cultural and entertainment spots across the country.

For fans of music, heading to the LG Arena will give you the chance to see some of the biggest touring artists from the world of popular music, while the National Indoor Arena (NIA) offers sports, comedy and other stage shows for over 12,000 attendees.

The fun doesn't stop there though, as the city is also home to the popular Hippodrom, a theatre that is famed for its ballet performances, as well as being one of the most popular in the UK.

Other similar venues include Birmingham Repertory Theatre, which is the leading production centre in Birmingham.

And for new residents with a taste for the finer things in life, the city is also home to two art collections. Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery hosts a number of different paintings by primarily Italian and English artists, including the likes of Rubens and Bellini.

Meanwhile, the Edgbaston area of the settlement is defined by the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, which is considered one of the finest small displays in the world, with examples of works dating all the way from the 13th century to the present day.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801542653-ADNFCR
