Bath offers relaxed city life

The city of Bath could be the ideal choice for families looking to move to an area that has modern facilities, but still retains a unique personality.

There is a real mix of property for sale in Bath - making it perfect for young couples, families and downsizers.

Many of the amenities are within working distance from the most popular residential areas and it retains a number of its Roman streets. In fact, the city itself is inscribed as a world heritage site.

With a population of around 80,000, the spa city has a vibrant and friendly feeling about it, especially as it is home to a number of students and is a popular destination for tourists from around the world.

Bath has strong transport links with both Bath bus station and Bath Spa railway station providing regular services to a number of UK cities and towns. For those who prefer to drive, the A4 links to Bristol and on to Wales.

There are many leisure attractions in the city, including a number of bars and restaurants to suit all budgets.

Shopping fans will also enjoy the city's retail therapy, as well as a number of high street names. Bath is home to many smaller boutiques, which sell unique products and services. In recent years, its rather outdated shopping mall has been replaced with a new development that offers a great range of facilities, as well as central parking. Bristol is also just a train ride away for those who want an even greater choice of retailers.

Anyone looking to enjoy a little culture will be pleased with Bath's numerous museums and art galleries, which cover a whole host of topics, such as Georgian life in Bath, the life and times of Jane Austen, 19th century astronomer William Herschel and the city's rich industrial heritage.

The city is also home to the Theatre Royal - one of the UK's oldest theatres - and it welcomes a number of top productions each year, as well as providing an outlet for progressive and emerging talent.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801703268-ADNFCR
