Bath may offer ideal city living

The city of Bath is internationally known as an attractive destination and welcomes thousands of tourists every year.

However, it may also offer a great home for anyone looking to balance city living with a charming day-to-day atmosphere.

There is plenty of property for sale in Bath ranging from traditional Georgian houses to more modest new builds - meaning there is something to suit most budgets.

With a population of around 80,000, there are also plenty of amenities, including shopping and leisure faculties.

For anyone looking for some retail therapy, the ancient Roman streets are home to a large number of brand shops, as well as some more quirky independent sellers. A large part of the city centre was recently redeveloped to include a modern, but charming, retail space. Shoppers can find lots of clothes shops, as well as a large Apple Store and a number of restaurants and bars.

A plan for a casino in the city has also recently received backing from local councillors and the £14 million development could help to provide an ideal night out for anyone who is feeling lucky.

In terms of education, there is the University of Bath and the Bath Spa University. Both are well regarded and run a number of adult and vocational courses.

For younger people, there are plenty of primary and secondary schools in the area that could be ideal for those families relocating.

If you want to escape the city life, then Bath is perfectly located at the bottom of the Avon Valley and is close to the Cotswolds - so weekends can be spent exploring the nearby countryside and perhaps sampling some of the local public houses along the way.

There are also good transport links from Bath to the larger city of Bristol. As well as a bus and railway station, there is also the nearby A4 which links it to a number of areas, as well as making Wales easily accessible.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801737308-ADNFCR
