Barry: A seaside town just a stone's throw away from Cardiff

The Welsh town of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan is a seaside town in the South of Wales just along the coast from the capital city, Cardiff.

It has, over recent years, grown to incorporate a number of smaller local villages to become one of the largest urban areas in Wales, although it still retains the feeling of a seaside town. The town includes its very own amusement park located on Barry Island as well as a number of beaches dotted along the coast.

Barry's situation of being a short drive from a bustling capital city while also retaining its quiet, seaside town persona is almost unrivalled. The ocean views available from a walk on the Pier in Barry are sublime and are popular year round.

Barry may be quiet and calm but there's no shortage of things to get up to while there. The town has five impressive golf courses surrounding it while there are also a number of rail and steam museums as well as plenty of walking routes and areas in the local region.

In terms of location, travel to Cardiff is literally very straightforward while England can be reached by picking up the M4 and crossing the Severn Bridge. The town has three well-connected train stations, Barry Docks, Barry Rail and Barry Island stations, which allow residents to get up and down the south coast of Wales. Cardiff train station then means commuters can connect further on towards England and Northern Wales. The jewel in the crown of Barry's transport options is undoubtedly the availability of international flights available at Cardiff International Airport, located further down the coast.

Barry has its own hospital as well as a number of colleges and schools so residents are well catered for. Barry offers a great deal of options to residents, no wonder that so many people are looking at property for sale in BarryADNFCR-1222-ID-800756355-ADNFCR
