Banbury, a real gem in the heart of Oxfordshire

Banbury, a real gem in the heart of Oxfordshire

Within easy reach of the capital as well as Birmingham while also offering plenty of its own charms, Banbury has plenty to shout about.

The town lies almost halfway between London and Birmingham yet is also surrounded by charming English countryside, possibly a reason why it is so popular with those looking for property to rent in Banbury. The town's train station offers links to the capital and England's second city. Also, as it lies just off the M40, both cities are well within convenient driving distance. A number of A-roads link the town to other regions of the country such as the south-west.

Banbury is itself engraved into English folklore for a number of reasons. It features in the famous nursery rhyme 'ride a cock horse' and was formerly one of the country's premier wool trading towns. Since then it has gone on to firmly establish itself as one of the south's many bustling towns with plenty of job and housing opportunities thanks to it being the home for a number of large industries.

It offers a plethora of facilities, sporting activities and other things to do. The town has various sports clubs, a number of educational centres as well as a town museum and good shopping facilities. This all means that residents are never short on things to do in the town, although should they wish to venture further afield that won't represent any difficulties.

Surrounding the town, are a number of interesting towns and villages which are perennially popular. Places including Stratford-Upon-Avon, Chipping Norton and Oxford are all nearby and the surrounding countryside is equally beautiful.

Prices reflect how popular the region is with residents, the last recorded average house price for Oxfordshire was £240,659 back in August 2010. Banbury is a real gem in southern England's crown both in terms of its own charm as well as its convenient location sandwiched between the country's two biggest cities.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800726623-ADNFCR
