Abbey introduces reward scheme for loyal customers

Abbey has announced that it will reward its loyal customers with lower mortgage rates than are available in its main range.

The scheme will apply to existing Abbey and Alliance & Leicester current account holders who have been with the bank for longer than six months.

Products include fee-free trackers, an offset mortgage and fixed-rate deals. In addition, the bank will also be offering help with legal fees, a free valuation and a free survey.

Customers can take advantage of the rewards on both remortgage and purchase products through the financial services company.

Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, director of mortgages at Abbey, said: "This is great news for our existing current account customers, whether they’re looking to remortgage or purchase a new home, they can now take advantage of more affordable offers."

In October, the Council of Mortgage Lenders revealed that the number of remortgages in August 2009 fell by 57 per cent compared to the same time the previous year.
